At approximately 10:45 a.m., troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks conducted a traffic stop of a 2017 Honda Civic on the Taconic State Parkway in the Dutchess County town of Stanford for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
During the interview of 27-year-old Shyrelle J. Goines of Pittsfield, MA, it was determined her driving privileges in New York were suspended, police said.
Continued investigation led to the discovery of approximately 3.9 grams of Lorazepram.
Goines was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, as well as aggravated unlicensed operation, an unclassified misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance in non-original container, a violation.
Damon A. Neal, 37, of Queens, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance in non-original container, a violation.
Both Goines and Neal were issued appearance tickets returnable to the town of Stanford Court on Wednesday, March 21.
